What is Open Enrollment?
The inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside.
Why the Beaver Dam Unified School District?
Our school communities have earned 27 Wisconsin School of Recognition Awards, 4 top ranking recognitions by US News and World Reports, 3 National Blue Ribbon Awards for Excellence, a Model Professional Learning Community at Work School award, and a Wisconsin RtI Center School of Distinction recognition. The BDFam is committed to excellent staff to student ratios, low class sizes and commitment to student services resources that is second to none. Our elementary schools consistently rank at the top in our region and are recognized at the state and national level. Our high school offers the most comprehensive set of offerings in the region, and allows students to choose pathways that can afford them the opportunity to earn multiple college credits and/or participate in extensive career pathways that include multiple youth apprenticeship opportunities. In addition, we offer more access and variety in the area of extracurricular activities, clubs, the performing arts, and athletics than any other district in the region. In the BDFam, every child has an opportunity to be involved and connected in something that reflects their interest, talent and passion!
Who May Participate?
Students in 4-Year Old Kindergarten through Grade 12 and who are Wisconsin residents. However, students in 4-year old kindergarten and early childhood education may participate only if the child’s resident school district offers the same type of program and only if the child is eligible for that program in the resident school district.
How and When May Parents Apply?
