The Open Enrollment application period for the 2017-18 School Year is February 6 - April 28, 2017. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 pm on April 28. Late applications cannot be accepted. Please visit http://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment to apply online.
What is Open Enrollment?
Open enrollment, also known as School Choice, is Wisconsin's public school program which allows parents to apply for their children to attend school in a school district other than the one in which they live. If parents already have a child attending a school district through open enrollment, they must apply for each additional child in their family as they become eligible.
Who May Participate?
Students in 5-Year Old Kindergarten through Grade 12 and who are Wisconsin residents.
Students in 4-year old kindergarten and Early Childhood may participate provided their resident district has a similar program and the child qualifies to participate in that program.
How and When May Parents Apply?
The recommended method of applying for open enrollment is through the on-line application process on the Department of Public Instruction's website http://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment during the open enrollment application period (February - April). Parents may complete a paper application and submit it to the district they wish for their child to attend (non-resident school district) during the application period. The application period for the 2017-18 school year is now open. Please contact Michelle Falkinham if you wish to apply for Open Enrollment for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year.
