The Open Enrollment application period for the 2017-18 School Year is February 6 - April 28, 2017. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 pm on April 28. Late applications cannot be accepted. Please visit http://oe.dpi.wi.gov/ to apply online.
What is Open Enrollment?
Open enrollment, also known as School Choice, is Wisconsin's public school program which allows parents to apply for their children to attend school in a school district other than the one in which they live. If parents already have a child attending a school district through open enrollment, they must apply for each additional child in their family as they become eligible.
Who May Participate?
Students in 5-Year Old Kindergarten through Grade 12 and who are Wisconsin residents.
Open enrollment for 4-year old kindergarten and Early Childhood is limited. Please contact Michelle Falkinham at FalkinhamM@bdusd.org or (920) 885-7300, ext. 1116 to find out if your child qualifies.
How and When May Parents Apply?
The recommended method of applying for open enrollment is through the on-line application process on the Department of Public Instruction's website (http://oe.dpi.wi.gov/) during the open enrollment application period (February - April). Parents may complete a paper application and submit it to the district they wish for their child to attend (non-resident school district) during the application period. The application period for the 2015-16 school year is closed. Please contact Michelle Falkinham for information about applying outside of the regular application period.
