School Social Workers hold a vital role in schools, providing services to students, families, staff, and the school community. They invest their time, training, and expertise to remedy barriers to learning. School Social Workers utilize a strength-based approach to assist with mental health concerns, behavioral concerns, positive behavioral support, crisis planning and support, academic and classroom support, housing and homelessness, attendance, and referral to community resources. They work with teachers, administrators, parents, and other educators to provide coordinated interventions and consultation designed to keep students in school and help families to access the support needed to promote student success.
