Starting February 1, students in grades 6-12 participating in the in-person instructional model will attend in-person four days per week and have one day per week (Wednesdays) of distance or virtual instruction. Virtual instruction days will include synchronous (live) instruction in their courses.
COVID-19 Precautions
- All students and staff are required to wear masks and class sizes are reduced as much as possible.
- Regular cleaning and sanitization throughout the school day. This includes increased custodial staffing during school hours.
- Minimized movement and congregation of students in common areas during the school day.
- Staggered release of students to prevent congestion at the end of the school day.
- Quarantines for students and staff who have been determined to be a close contact of someone testing positive for COVID-19 and precautionary quarantines for those exhibiting two or more COVID-19 symptoms.
Transition Information
Starting February 1st, Beaver Dam Middle School and Beaver Dam High School will transition from the Hybrid (2 day in-person instruction, 3-day distance learning) model, to a 4-day in-person instructional (4 day in-person instruction, 1 day distance learning) model. Generally, one day per week (Wednesdays) will continue to be reserved for distance learning (virtual learning from home) for all secondary (grades 6-12) students. Please see the information below for information on changing a student’s model of instruction.

Students currently participating in in-person instruction and continuing to do so in the 4-day model do not need to make any contact with the school. Unless we hear from families, these students will automatically be considered enrolling in the 4-day plan. |

Transportation
- Students who are eligible for transportation from the school district continue to have the opportunity to receive transportation.
- We do request that any family able to provide their own transportation do so in order to support our social distancing efforts.
- Transportation, for in-person students who are already riding the bus, will automatically change from two to four days.
- Please contact your child’s school office for any changes in transportation needs.
Meals
Meals for students, no matter their instructional model, continue to be free of charge. Please click here for more information.
Attendance
- A reminder that students have required synchronous (live) instruction in our virtual education model and, for our in-person students, on virtual instruction days. This is the basis for attendance during the second semester.
- Students who experience issues preventing the ability to attend synchronous (live) instruction on virtual days should contact their school for assistance.
