What is Student Council?

The BDMS Student Council is a school sponsored group that will consist of students in Grades 6-8.  It is a group of people who volunteer to make our our school and community a fun, healthy, and safe place. Student Council should consist of students who are willing to stand out of the crowd and be a role-model for their peers by showing school spirit and pride, by putting on and helping out in events around school, and who demonstrate leadership potential.

Student Council students will work on character building, leadership skills, decision making skills, organization skills, and responsibility.

Everyone is welcome to participate, as long as they have good academic and behavioral standing (See “Eligibility Requirements For Student Council”). Student Council students will be held to high standards. Being that Student Council is considered a high-level co-curricular, I do hope at all participating students can keep their grades up and keep their behavior in check.

The student council will have an designated Leadership Committee. The Leadership Committee is made up of representatives from each grade level.
